My University Mandated Vaccines and the Anti-Vaxxers Are Mad

Droves of student anti-vaxxers emerged en masse

My university announced that we have to be vaccinated for the Fall semester.

They decided months ago that we would go ahead with a hybrid in-person/online semester. Yet, they were suspiciously quiet about vaccination requirements.

Yesterday, we all received a notice which read,

“In order to be granted full access to campus, all members of the community — including all students, faculty, and staff — will be required to have received a full course of a Health Canada or World Health Organization approved vaccine, for at least 14 days.”

Most students were happy about this news. However, there were a few dissenters furious at our uni’s decision to join the growing list of post-secondary institutions issuing vaccine mandates.

I didn’t realize there were so many student anti-vaxxers among our ranks, so the response was quite shocking. I have many thoughts, and they’re a bit of a jumble in my head, so let’s dive in.
