Let's Hope Being An Adult Gets Easier at 30 Because 23 Feels Like The Upside Down

A list of 30 things I want to achieve before I turn 30

Today is my 23rd birthday. Maybe.

Depending on how much past-me procrastinated writing this, you may not read this on my 23rd birthday, but I officially turned twenty-three at midnight on October 1st.

Twenty-three is a weird age because, before that, you're a baby adult. In legal and technical terms, you're an adult human while still retaining many of the responsibilities and problems of teenagers. At twenty-three, you're one step closer to having to handle grave (and terrible) adult problems — graduation from university, repaying student loan debt and job hunting in this fucked COVID-19 market.

In true me fashion, I'm going to punt some of that worry off to my future self by drafting a listicle of thirty things I hope she will have achieved by the time she is thirty years old. I have no plan for how my future self will manage to complete these tasks, but, in true procrastinator fashion, I'm sure she'll wrap everything up with minutes to spare.
