I'm originally from the Caribbean so when I moved to Canada and was a part of the minority black population, it was a jarring experience. I've had multiple classes in uni where I was the only black person in the class and it was decidedly uncomfortable and took some getting used to. We would have conversations about race and the entire class would turn to me like I was some all-knowing savant. It was like something straight out of Get Out. This was a good article and definitely something I think all white people should experience as well.
